hi all, long time reader, long time fan.

im about to purchase my first, yes 1st, macbook ever, after saving up for almost 1 year.

my question is that can you tell by the serial number what week the MB was made? sort of like the iphone delima, do certain weeks have better MBs?

also if anyone could give me some tips b4 buying that would be great. im also debating refurb or brand new and i have read all about the refurbs so im confident that they are excellent products too.

TIA!!!!!

I think for MacBooks/MacBook pro, you look at the model (MacBook 2,1 = 2nd generation) in OSX, etc. and not through the serial numbers.. but its always possible.
