MB325LL boot SSD on optical drive connection

I want to replace the optical drive with a SSD, can I use the SATA2(Optical Drive) from the motherboard to boot from the SSD, or I have to use the SATA1(OEM HDD) to boot from it? I want to keep the OEM HDD for backup and use the SSD as the main one.

just go to preferences and pick the drive you want to boot from.

good, now is it the same speed right? The Optical Drive connection is the same speed as the HDD right? SATAII 3 Gigabit Link Speed... Thanks
