    Hi.

I have a MBA 11" (1.8 GHz Intel Core i7), and it is currently connected to my 30" cinema display, using a Mini DVI adaptor. I just acquired a 27" LED Cinema cinema display which has a mini display port…

So -- (1) can I daisy chain or somehow make these two displays work at the same time with my 11" MBA?

..and (2) I also have a 2010 MBP 13". Would the same idea work with that?

Almost everything I find about this topic is all about thunderbolt, which I don't think either of these two monitors or my MBA air have.

thanks for any help or direction.

    Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible

In theory, a device like this (MST hub - http://www.amazon.com/Club-CSV-5300-SenseVision-DisplayPort-3xDisplayPort/dp/B00CD2632M ) can drive two displays from a single DisplayPort output. However, on your Macbook Air and Macbook Pro it would only support lower resolution screens than your 30" / 27". Secondly, from what I've read the OS X support for MST hubs is not complete - https://resolume.com/blog/10878/onwards-to-4k-and-beyond-the-infinite

Other options for multiple displays are using a Matrox DualHead adapter, or an external USB to Displayport adapter - essentially an external GPU. However, both of these options won't support the 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 resolutions of your displays, and the USB adapters performance is horrible.

Sorry to rain on your parade!
