MBA 11" i5 or i7

I want to get an 11" MBA with 8GB RAM / 256GB SSD.

I plan on using it mainly for web browsing and word processing. Will I notice any speed difference between the i5 and i7?

No, I honestly don't think you will. While I will always advise someone to buy as much RAM as they can afford (as that will make a difference to performance), and while I, personally, am a fan of having a large memory, the core speed is a lot less important, especially when the difference between them is not so striking. The i5 should be more than enough for your needs.

Get the i5, more than enough for basic use.

even if you only do light tasks they will still be done more quickly with an i7 than an i5

It is unlikely you will notice the difference for undemanding tasks. That being said, if you can afford it, get it.
