Hi,

I have a 11" MBA since november, and am very pleased with it.
Only issue is, it *sometimes* crashes when I try to get it out of hibernate (suspend-to-ram). I use this feature all the time in order to avoid restarting all the applications I use everytime (this saves a lot of time), but sometimes (maybe once in 10 or 20 wake ups --- that is about twice a week), it will not wake up: the screen then stays black, and the machine seems not to react to anything (I did try to wait up to 5 minutes, and it still does nothing). If I press on the "On" button for a long time, it eventually reboots, but then I need to restart all my applications (browsers --open tabs lost--, virtual machine, terminal sessions), which is pretty painful.

Am I alone with this issue ?

If not, is there some solution ?

If you are getting kernel panics (i.e. the screen turns gray and says it must be shut down), it could be a hardware issue. I had the same thing happen on my 2010 MacBook Air and Apple replaced the logic board. Sometimes faulty software can cause this. Some versions of Parallels Desktop 6 used to cause kernel panics in some configurations, because it made modifications to the OS X kernel.

I'd have it checked out at a Genius Bar if an Apple Store is conveniently located. They can run some diagnostics to check it out.

I have this problem occasionally with my 13" MacBook Air. I would love to know what the issue is.
