    Hey everyone,
Loving my MBA 11", but I just started watching some tv shows I downloaded and I am using VLC... When I go to full screen it pixelates/isn't smooth. Does this happen to you? I just tested it on my Alu uMB connected to a 21.5" monitor and it doesn't do that... :\ It happened to my base 11" as well, but I upgraded to the max'd and still the same.
    Here is an example: Video

Are you running the latest version of VLC? 1.1.3 is the latest version. Make sure you are running 64-bit VLC. You can download it here:

    No I haven't, I didn't have the divx codec.

Yep, just downloaded that version as soon as I got my MBA. I have 1.1.3. Has anybody else used VLC and seen this? Or does yours work smoothly?

    Thanks

Ok, I just tried an MP4 movie with Quicktime and that was fine.
Anybody try an .avi with VLC and have it smooth?

How do I know if I am running 64-bit? I have 1.1.3. Thanks.

yea my NAS movies are avi. with VLC open go to activity monitor, in the process list it shows 32 or 64.

i dloaded both (combined) and it automatically uses the 64.

It's a plugin that basically turns Quicktime into VLC - ie. makes it play pretty much everything. Something playing in Quicktime is a good indicator of if it will convert properly when burning a DVD video in Toast too. (Or any other program that relies on QT components.)

I just checked, using the 64-bit version. It pixelates when I full screen.

Thanks, sorry downloaded Perian and used Quicktime to watch the same videos and the transition to full screen is smooth. Looks like I'll be using Quicktime from now on. Thanks!
