not to hijack the thread but i too am between these two models either the 13" 1.86/4gb/128 or the 2.13/4gb/256 i believe i read somewhere you cant swap out the SSD since its soldered to the logic board correct? because honestly i dont need the processor but the storage would be nice. thnx
Don't hold me to it, but, IIRC OWC had bigger SSD's for the MBA. I think the RAM is soldered to the board but the SSD isn't.

EDIT: A quick search on Google brought this up.

thanks i could have sworn i read somewhere that the ssd and ram were soldered down but i am glad to know its just the ram. now i can go with the 128 perhaps knowing i can upgrade in the future.:D

I have both a 2010 13" Ultimate and an 11" base. For my needs either does the job. The 13" does run warmer and the fans tend to ramp up especially on Flash sites. The 11" does not get anywhere near the temps or fan speeds of the 13" on the same flash sites.

For those commenting that the CPU bump isn't that big of a deal, have you thought about the longevity of the device? Will getting the faster CPU in any way extend how long you could realistically use it? The reason I ask is because I have one of the original 1.6/80 MBA's, which is reaching the end of its life for how I use it and I'm wondering if I had gotten the CPU bump to 1.8 back then, if it would have allowed me to use it a little longer. Thoughts appreciated!

The speed bump isn't significant enough to make a real difference. Now going from the base 1.4GHz in the 11" to the upper end 2.13GHz on the 13" is pretty significant but going from 1.86 to 2.13 isn't exactly a game changer.
