If Apple retires the MacBook Air I imagine quite a few MacRumors regulars will be rushing to get their Airs purchased while they're still on the shelves. I am pleased that I bought an eleven-inch Air while they were still around – it's a really great laptop. I have a thirteen-inch Air, too, I bought some eighteen months later because it was on offer and the deal was too good to miss.
I think the Air is still a great computer for some people. And I've never had a problem with the screens, unlike some – I remember using a Mac SE for desktop publishing and it had a tiny mono screen. I lived to tell the tale.
The MacBook Air has a lot going for it, in my opinion, and will suit some people very well. It would still be my choice if I were in the market for a new computer today. I'd get a Mac Mini as well if they were worth buying but sadly that ship has sailed, for now.
As an aside, I remember when the iPod Classic was being retired and, despite owning a neat little iPod Nano with built-in radio, I got a Classic while they were still around. Never regretted that, either.
