I know there are a lot of threads flying around, but this one is, at least slightly, different.

I got the unibody aluminium Macbook on day one (before the started calling it a Pro). It is 2 years old and has a 2.4Ghz processor, 4GB ram and an SSD hard drive.

If I switch toe the 2.16Ghz MBA with 4GB ram and SSD (or however the new system works), am I going to notice any significant drop in performance? Perhaps when using photoshop or the like?

Remember, the MBA now has better graphics than my Macbook (320M vs 9400M)

Please don't bring price into this.

The performance in the MBA will be faster due to the fact of the SSD.

Note his old MB had an SSD.

I couldn't say for sure because I don't have either of the computers but I would say it would only be a slight drop of performance in some applications, but a gain in others because of the GPU. Probably a drop in Photoshop as the versions except CS5 don't use graphics hardware acceleration. And I don't think the 9400m or 320m are on its list of supported hardware.

It also remains to be seen how fast Apple's solid state memory and memory controller are.
