Is anyone able to post photos of the new MacBook Air 15" next to the old (2010-2017), non-retina 13" MacBook Air?
They are supposed to be very close in size and I'm very curious to see just how close.

It would be great to see them next to each other while open and in use, as well as closed and stacked on top of each other.

Greatly appreciated.

This video may help. He's got all four colors of the new 15" Airs, and compares them against a whole bunch of prior Macbooks, Pros, and Airs, including on top of one another and side-by-sides. I don't think you'll find a recent video more thorough than this one.

In fact, I think this is exactly what you are looking for.

That's a great video indeed, but it doesn't feature the pre-2018 MBA.

Not photos, but the size data.

Model. Width. Depth. Height (or thickness). Weight.

15.3” 2023 13.4 x 9.35 x .45 inches 3.3 lbs

13.3” 2015 12.8 x 8.94 x .4 inches 3.0 lbs

When they do the photos or videos comparing sizes, I wish they would center the smaller laptop on top of the larger one. The differences in width are only half the size.

For example, the 15” MBA is .6” wider, but that actually means only .3“ more on each side.

That’s actually pretty cool seeing it next to the old one. I never realised how similar the size is.

Stranger, great photo comp!

How do they feel on the lap? Noticeably different? Is the 15” harder to balance? Does it have a tendency to tilt back farther? Is the 15” as comfortable? Does that huge trackpad interfere with positioning your palms?

1. The sizes are so similar that it doesn't make a difference for me. Honestly, bigger is better for balance during lap use (for me). I guess the 15" is slightly less sensitive with how I position my legs.
2. My 13" hinge is broken because of an obese cat that likes to use my electronics as a jungle gym so I can't really comment on the tilting.
3. I have no issues with typing thus far, but tbh I don't have much time on it. Bought it as a bedside/travel device.

I haven't had any problems using the 15" on my lap. There has been no tilting back and forth. It stays put. Coming from the 13" MBA, I am still adjusting to the bigger size, including the trackpad, which hasn't been accidentally triggered.
