I have to use the trackpad speed at the max setting which I find strange because I could even go up further, but there is no option. I'm coming from an M1 Air which I use at 2 notches below the max. Has anyone had to do this too?
Glad I'm not the only one. I noticed right away that it didn't feel right.Yes I have the same issue. It's too slow even on the fastest setting, and the acceleration is too much as well.
I don't think it's a bug, it's apple deciding to limit you.Strange. I think this is a bug or something. Has to be.
Magic Mouse is even worse. Max speed and still have to throw it around.I don't think it's a bug, it's apple deciding to limit you.
It feels so laborious using the trackpad
Why would you need to do that? These machines just came out and although mouse sensitivity/speed is subjective there are definitely refinements that need to be made on all of Apple’s pointer devices.Have you tried reinstalling the OS?
It does. I think I’ll return it until they fix it. It makes using the device annoying.I don't think it's a bug, it's apple deciding to limit you.

Will give it a shot. Thank youTry “BetterTouchTool" trackpad settings
the pointer speed maximum goes further than the slider in system settings
WHY wouldn't you exhaust all avenues of fixing the problem? Why would you need to do that? These machines just came out and although mouse sensitivity/speed is subjective there are definitely refinements that need to be made on all of Apple’s pointer devices.
I'm on 13.5 too, I just checked and it's not fixed for me. LinearMouse still shows the device as "Unknown" initially. It does detect the device half the time but it always did and it's not reliable. The acceleration control works, and that always did too, but the pointer speed control still does nothing.Weird. I'm using it right now, Ventura 13.5, Linear mouse is working. Maybe they fixed it?
It's kind of unbelievable this is an issue on such a new device.Yea, it's annoying. Obviously an engineering/software decision by someone at Apple. My old 13 Macbook Air trackpad is about Twice as fast on maximum setting. Hopefully they will fix it in an update!
(just received a security update...no changes to the trackpad!).
I really don't want to pay for some third party Utility to fix something so rudimentary.

This app is great; and totally free;

Thanks for the information. I tried this exactly as you suggested, and it didn't affect the tracking speed even after a full reboot.Try changing to larger number to increase tracking speed with this command (5 is used as an example):
Thanks for trying and sharing. Thanks for the information. I tried this exactly as you suggested, and it didn't affect the tracking speed even after a full reboot.
Sorry it didn’t work. Worth a tryThanks for the information. I tried this exactly as you suggested, and it didn't affect the tracking speed even after a full reboot.
Interesting...I don't know why weird things like thing happen with Apple. I remember when I first got my M1 Air, the keyboard was completely loose. I took it back and they replaced it, and it was fine after that. I guess QC is difficult on such a mass level.
Same company that took half a decade to admit the butterfly keyboard was a mistake. Touch bar too. Don't hold your breath on them fixing this issue any time soon.I don't know why weird things like thing happen with Apple.
