Does a 25 SB runs a lot hotter than a 17 SB?

Yes, hence the 25 vs the 17, given the same cooling system.

Well I know it's hotter, the question was if it's a negligible or noticeable difference ^^

32% hotter with same cooling.

Yeah, the lower TDP CPU shouldn't provide much greater battery life. Apple could have gone with ULV in 13" already but they have decided not to, thus I see no reason to do the switch now.

I tend to agree with that, why switch now, doesnt make too much sense
