Hello guys,

I have MBA early 2015 with Big Sur installed. I'd like if someone who has also MBA early 2015 can share the default pm settings, by posting the output from pmset -g command in the terminal.

What is bothering me is very high values for parameters "standbydelaylow 10800" and "standbydelayhigh 86400".
Essentially these are timers in seconds after laptop go from sleep to bybernation state. For a laptop old more than 6 years and looks like too big values.

So, if possible, please post your values for standbydelaylow(high) if you have MBA 2015.

Thank you.

I have same machine. I believe those are defaults, even back in Mojave.. I have those displays but I'm not sure on which version I was when I recorded them.. I'm guessing Catalina but not sure..

Thank you ver much xboxbml, it is very helpful. My intention was to to modify the settings in order to be a better match for the battery that is not that great anymore. But before I do this, I needed to be sure about the defaults.
Thank you once again, I'll use your current settings.

No prob. You might want to also get a new battery. I got one from iFixit a while ago and it worked very well until I dumped a glass of red wine into that machine.. This machine I have now is exact replacement. It still had decent battery in it so haven't gotten a new one yet. I'm still on Catalina and have no plans on going up from here. I feel Apple is taking away user access to things inside the OS and I'm not a fan of that. I'm still tempted to go back to Mojave. How has Big Sur been running on yours?

Hello xboxbml,

My battery can still last for about 3.5 to 4 hours during normal use. It has 350 cycles and coconut app reports 89.8% health, so I it is more likely to change MBA than to change battery.
Regarding the Big Sur, as I wrote on the another thread, it takes significantly more time to boot after being shut down. Since I use my MBA mostly for entertaining (Safari browsing, YT, Netflix), I didn't nitice any significant lag or anything I could call a problem.
However, I have tried Office for Mac 2019 and it is very slow to start first time (more than 10 sec). Any other start is much faster. For my usual use of MBA, Big Sur is not that worse, so I could think going back to Catalina.
Regards

Wow only 3-4 hours? I think can get a bit more than that out of mine.. I'm at 296 cycles and 95.7% of design capacity. I don't use mine unplugged too often really. I'll have to do that and see for sure, but I've watched movies or tv shows on this for about 6 hours I think.. I'll try again and see.

Mine is most of the time on battery, I use charger only when drop below 20% and charge it until cca 85%, after that it is on battery again. I think the battery last a bit more than 4 hours on YT. When surfing, it is about a bit less than that.
Here's what coconut app says about my battery.
