I got to wondering how the performance of my new MBA compares to the performance of my 06 MacPro. It's pretty amazing how powerful the SandyBridge MBA's are.

Yeah! I am very impressed by the power in the MBA as well. And thanks to the SSD it even loads programs faster than my iMac 27" (i5 Quad Core).

The MBA has really come a long way since its debut, going from cool show off computer to basically being the gold standard for what laptops should be like.

I bet in the next couple of years the "Air" name will be dropped and the MacBook Airs will simply become "MacBooks"

I forgot to mention that the MacPro has an Intel 140GB SSD for the boot drive. Not sure if that affects the Geekbench score or not.
