Hello everyone,

Last Tuesday, out of the blue, I couldn't start my Mid 2013 MacBook Air (MD760TU). I tried everything, it was charging but the screen, the fan and even the caps lock button light did not working. I send it to Apple Store and they said it was a motherboard problem. They asked more than half of the brand new MacBook Air price to fix it, so I told them to not. They removed the SSD for me to take my documents. Now I have a MacBook without SSD and when I tried to start it, its fan started to work very loudly. No screen or anything but the fan is working. Does that mean if i insert the SSD, it will work?

If not, what do you recommend for me? Getting a new MacBook for 3,600, fixing it at the Apple Store for 2000, or fixing it at some unreliable repair shop for 1000?

One last question; how can I save my documents from the SSD? I bought SSD enclosure box, but it was too big for MacBook's SSD. I don't know how I am going to find a box for this SSD.

Thank you very much.

Was the Macbook ever exposed to liquid?

Inserting an SSD is not going to make the Macbook work. Without a bootable drive, a working Macbook screen would show a folder with a question mark.

To get your documents from the drive, you will need to put the SSD into another late 2013 to 2015 Macbook Pro or Macbook Air or get an external enclosure like this: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MAU3ENPRPCI

Thank you very much for your answer. No, it didn't exposed to liquid. I checked few repair shops and they all said the same thing: "Motherboard should change". So I get a new Macbook instead.

Now, I am trying to get my documents from SSD. Can I use this enclosure to get my documents?
