MBA fits under a TBD ?

To the OP, I'd entertain the idea of not using any protective material. I've had my TBD for a couple of months now, and usually put my MBP on the 'foot' unless I'm using two screens. I have no scratches whatsoever on the bottom of it. Since it is a flat surface you are resting it on and it doesn't move, there isn't anything that can really scratch it.

I'm getting the TBD next month so I'll be trying out some options then.

It is a perfect solution for me. The ACD is obviously never moved, so the whole thing is stable. And since I have rediscovered my iPad1, the MBA is only rarely used as a laptop.

Absolutely, and yes, ours is practically identical.
For me with the 11" MBA, resting is fine. But if I had a 13" MBA, like you do, the additional stand is definitely the better and safer solution.

(still wondering why Apple ditched the 24" ACD. Such a great screen size)
