MBA Mini DisplayPort To HDMI Adapter Reliability

I have been having problems with the mini-displayport-to-hdmi-adapter on 2 generations of MBA.

The signal cuts out intermittently - just looking at getting a replacement from Apple but the reviews are poor:

The family uses it in this mode so much I have thought of replacing either with a MBP which has HDMI or a (gulp) Windows laptop.

I've been using a mini displayport to HDMI adapter from monoprice for about a year and so far so good. It's not something I use a lot, but when I need it it's been 100% functional.

I use the Monoprice MiniDisplayPort to HDMI cable periodically when connecting my computer to the TV. I've never had any issues with it and I've been using it for over a year now.

I use this Kanex one and it's been ok. Cheaper than the Belkin and free Prime shipping.

Does anyone have any experience with this Monoprice one? The price is certainly lower than the one they sell at the Apple Store.

Edit:

Actually I see the port is actually labelled with the Thunderbolt symbol on my MBA - I had thought it was old enough to still be a Mini DisplayPort. So perhaps this Monoprice one is the correct model?

I have been using the Apple MDP - HDMI adapter without issues for a couple years now.
