MBA or iPad?

Greetings to my fellow apple product enthusiast.
I am planning to get myself an early gift which is better an iPad Pro or Macbook Air?

It depends. Can you do everything you need to do on an iPad? If so it may be a good investment. If not, a MacBook Air will likely be more flexible. If you've got money burning a hole in your pocket, get both and switch between them as you see fit.

Instant on, with optional cellular capability? Sitting in various locations around work or very mobile? iPad.

Keyboarding a lot and like to sit at desk or need to have big monitors attached? MacBook.

Got a iPad Pro but it's not a "real" computer replacement for me ... I'm current in the market for a MacBook in addition.
