I just went through with the same decision, Pro or Air?
I chose the Pro with 128ssd for the following reasons:

Went to the apple store and spent about 1/2 hour with both machines

the screen looked so close between the two it was not a factor
the keyboard felt better on the pro and it is lighted (big +)
the processor is much updated on the pro (i5 big+)
with the ssd in the pro I have one of the big +'s of the air
so in the end the only negative of the pro is size and weight and i think the +'s made the decision for me.

What I am NOT hearing in the thread is that the MBA will be underpowered and that I would have regrets not going with the MBP. That is very encouraging. I am leaning now (thanks to this fine forum) toward the MBA. Sounds like I won't really miss the added horsepower of the MBP. I also didn't know the screen resolution is better on the MBA.

Thanks,
Scott

Another consideration is how long you intend to keep the computer. I tend to get new ones every 2 years or so (sometimes sooner, sometimes less often). Since the Core 2 Duo is end-of-life, note that in 2-3 years time it may seem underpowered. Software has a tendency to get more bloated with each new revision. Remember when we thought 25MHz 386s or 68030s were fast?

Given the worthless graphics chip in the new 13" MBP, you basically gain in graphics what you lost on processing power.

Also, using only a "EOL" C2D chip and modern software, my main problem is, always, RAM bloat, unless I load up the games or photography software. Or, ostensibly, flash.
