Does anyone know if a preorder will be available for the refreshed MBA? I'm going to be living 1.5 hours away from the nearest Apple Store and need to order online to get my computer by the following week so I can have it before my classes start.

I would say to just stay on top of rumors or Apple oriented blogs. When they get released, word will get out there (and here probably) first. When that happens, just head over to the site and order one online. Either that or run into the nearest store when they open.
The nearest store is about 1.5 hours away from me as well, I'm going to drive over there though and pick it up; it would be nice to spend the day in Jacksonville in starbucks or wherever customizing the machine.

sounds like fun. i love getting a new computer and setting it up! i'll pass on this refreshed air, because i have already purchased more gadgets than i need. down a cup of sweet starbucks goodness for me!
That's exactly what I plan on doing. The Apple store is in the middle of a mid-high end outside shopping center; great for spending the day with a loved one or by yourself.
I plan on bringing the external HD I use for Time Machine with me; getting the laptop, restoring it inside the starbucks right down the street, then spending the day up there relaxing.
