Yeah I agree, although some of the reports say that the MBA may not be released on the same day, so if not the same day ie the 14th or 15th id bet on the 19th

I am thinking of just going to get a pro for a couple days. I just sold my air before the refresh with a ton of software to break even at 1200.

I think I'll grab a 13" Pro and then switch the Air since it will be within 30 days whenever it comes out.

Doesn't Apple have a tendency to release products on Tuesdays?

It'll probably be at least the 19th, or the 26th--though the 12th or 14th would be a nice surprise :)

Isn't the return period only 14 days?

It's the 14th. End of story.

Unless if Apple is coming out with a brand new product we've never seen before instead of refreshing the Macbook Air, we'll see a Macbook Air refresh. Likely we'll see the Mac minis refresh too (I don't care about that).

The reason: Apple is not a lackluster company. They won't simply go and release Lion and go "wooo we have a new operating system... have fun". No, they'll go "woo we have a new operating system and the world's nicest ultra-portable solution to run it on!".

Why bother with a poll? With Apple, it's always a crapshoot. I truly think that they like to confuse us and see us grovel. In plain speak; they will release it when they feel like it! They're sort of control oriented. And if you depend on rumors and guesses, you'll get high blood pressure. The answer is "Whatever Will Be, Will Be"!

Apple has just asked developers to submit their Apps for Mac OS lion. The update is imminent, but it is not going to be in in 3 days. There is no way apple will be able to approve all of those apps in 3 days and developers need time to submit. Sometime next week is the best bet.

And why would that have an effect on the new Air?

I think that this is a good attitude towards Apple.

If one can wait for an update, just ignore it. When the news of update was heard from whichever channel, check the Apple Website and read the specs. If a new product is still wanted, then go to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Reseller to buy it, or just buy it online from either the Apple Online Store or any other site.

If one cannot wait for an update, just buy the current model and be happy with it.

I actually don't think this will have that large of an effect on the release. All of Apple's own first-party apps aren't going to need time to approve, and those that jump on the new hardware from day 1 aren't going to be shopping around for random apps (but rather installing apps they already have and need, which are often not in the app store anyway). For users simply upgrading to Lion, the apps they have on SL should generally work just fine anyway. Apple could easily just prioritize approving the big-name apps in the app store, making the launch perfectly fine, even without ALL the apps.

Regardless of wether or not it is released this week, ( I am praying to baby jesus it will :)

I am annoyed with the rumors and artcles that contradict eachother.

So, they post a rumor that say basically "Yes, the MBA and Lion will definitly be released this week." And then the next article is about Apps being submitted, and how this can take time and will be difficult to get done by the supposed release date. Meaning that it is unlikely this week.

Appleinsider said hours after posting that it will be released:

However, there have been some underground rumors of last minute security issues related to application resumes and restarts that could possible delay the update till next week. At the same time, buzz from within Apple's home base has also suggested this Friday as a possibility. But given that Apple just began accepting applications for Lion to the Mac App Store a few hours ago, that may suddenly seem ambitious."

    That pisses me off.....

As I said in the post above, I don't see the late acceptance of apps to be a sign that Lion is delayed at all. In fact, Apple recently streamlined the iOS app store approval process quite a bit, so maybe they really do plan to be able to go through all of those apps by Thursday. I can just imagine Steve standing over the app store people with a whip... I also believe that if there really were a security issue big enough to warrant a delay in Lion, the news would have come up somewhere by now. As of now, if an issue exists, it'll probably be fixed in 10.7.1, as it doesn't seem to be much of a big deal.

Granted, the only "sources" with any believable information seem to be MacRumors and AppleInsider (with everyone else just reposting), and AppleInsider seems to just be covering ALL its bases by posting every possible release rumor in existence without providing much of a prediction. I expect that Apple might simply be throwing information out here and there as to disorient those trying to follow these rumors. I still see this week as a very likely launch date, partly because I want it to be, and partly because Thursday currently has the most solid evidence for it, especially with Wednesday's Apple Store overnight, which has not been called off, as far as I know.

Because on the release of ios 4 they got the developpers to submit the apps 11 days before the release, and if that is the case with Lion than we will be waiting a bit longer. They may be able to prioritize the Lion apps and get them approved quicker, but it could also mean that they are still a week away from releasing Lion. Not saying thats what it means but thats what it could mean if we use the past as any guide to the Lion release. I think it will be released on the 14th or 15th(seeing as the last 5 have been released on a friday.) but this info could mean it gets released later.
