MBA sometimes makes noises when performing updates

Since the MBA doesn’t have any CPU fan, then how come it sometimes makes a slight sound similar to a CPU fan especially when performing system updates?

Where is this sound coming from if the MacBook Air doesn’t have fans in them?

Could be coil whine. If so, then you should get a replacement from Apple.

What MBA?

Good question. Only the Apple silicon MacBook Airs are fanless.

Is it more of an "arghhhhh!" or a "wheeeeee"?

The former means the upgrade isn't going well; the latter means it is.

So why did you say it didn't have a fan? Haven't you ever heard the fan on your Intel MBA? That's weird. When I had one just going to Youtube would spin up the fan (it was a long time ago though.)
