Since the MBA doesn’t have any CPU fan, then how come it sometimes makes a slight sound similar to a CPU fan especially when performing system updates?

Where is this sound coming from if the MacBook Air doesn’t have fans in them?

Could be coil whine. If so, then you should get a replacement from Apple.

What MBA?
Good question. Only the Apple silicon MacBook Airs are fanless.

It’s an Intel older model

Which has a fan (even the 2020 model did):

Until I read further, I was about to write...."my MBA M2 is dead quiet, always". :)
And I love it.
