Hi,
For some reason my Macbook Air is only saying that I have 176 GBs available, when I know for a fact I have 240GBs. It even says in system information that it is a 24O GB drive but it says I have used x out of 176!! Picture below, please help.

Try booting into the partition created by ML or Mavericks. From there, use Disk Utility and repair your boot drive. This used to happen to me frequently and doing what I just mentioned always frees up the space. It states a lot of errors but they all get cleared up.
