Anyone notice Macbook Air is still the top seller at the apple store website? I'm actually surprised how many people have actually purchased a MBA, because I assumed it was for a small niche of people.

Sweet, apple notebooks have been selling pretty steadily the past few years, often outselling desktops - and the MBA the sexiest notebook they've got to offer!

I really buy into the "niche" concept. I think people like to buy nice products that work for them or the next cool thang :D

    Not related to computers, but....
Scion xB's niche market was for younger drivers (teens, early 20's). End result...there are more 35+yr old drivers

I honestly doubt that the "top seller" section on the Apple webpage is calculated by actual units sold or in any mathematical sense at all. Maybe it's just the skeptic in me, but I imagine the "top seller" bit has more to do with the Apple marketing regime, and is basically propaganda for us buyers. Part of my reasoning is that there is no indication of the time span the list is refreshed on (doesn't appear to be refreshed daily), yet it seems to get refreshed whenever there is a new product release to promote. Maybe Apple calculates it on a product release day and then they don't recalculate it until the next release day. Again, could be the skeptic in me, but I really don't think the Air is outselling the macbook.
