i have a mbp 1,2 a1151. i am wanting to go a little faster and upgrade to mountain lion. my question is can i swap in a logic board from say a mbp 2,1 a1212, or a 3,1 a1229. buying a new mbp is not a possibility right now however i can get a logic board pretty cheap. i would imagine heatsinks would be a little different. what about other connections, screw holes, lcd connectors. if anyone has any info that would help out i appreciate it. thanks

A1212 is not supported for mountain lion, because its a 2006 MBP. A1229 is supported (mid-2007). I would assume that most of the components are the same, so it should work, but dont count me on it.

Hello there,

I have a very similar issue. I own a MBP a1151, logic board is deffective and it happens that i can get a cheap a1212, would like to know if it is possible to install the a1212 within the a1151 case.
