im probably gonna buy a stock 1.83 MBP....if i do...can i remove the one 512mb sick of ram and replace it with a 1gb stick of ram...or can i only access the second slot?? wat im saying is...is the first slot user-accesible??

Of course you can, dear. MBP supports max 2GB RAM, 2 slots in every MBP, 512MB occupies a slot, you can do the calculation.

It has two slots, so keep the 512 stick in there and add the 1gb, giving you 1.5gb
