Hi all,

I have to upgrade my old MBP 13 (mid 2010) with an new MBP 13 and it was more or less clear, that I go with the base 2020 model (1,4 GHz Quad‑Core Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB), which is sufficient for my work which I will do.
Now I get an great offer for an:

MBP 13,3" mid 2019
  • 1,4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Prozessor
  • 8 GB LP DDR 3 - 2133 RAM
  • 256 GB SSD, Touchbar and Touch ID
  • Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645
which is 200 Euro cheaper as the actual 2020 base model.

As I have seen, the main difference between the 2019 vs 2020 model is the „questionable“ Keyboard (butterfly / magic).

What are you opinions/advice ? 2019 or 2020 ?

Thanks a lot!!

What is your expected lifespan for this purchase? If you are going to keep it for as long as your previous machine (10 years), then I would recommend springing the extra 200 Euros and get the 2020 model. Apple's keyboard protection program only lasts 4 years, and you'd be SOL for the remaining 6 years of expected life.
