Model is MXK32LL/A. Was $1249, now $1099.

Saw it at the store today. Sold out online.

Is this a decent replacement for my Late 2013 MPB Retina? Or is the Air with i7 a better choice?

It’s a good replacement to a 2013 MBP 13, I’d say. The Air would be fine too, but it’s barely lighter (about 0.25 lb) and has trouble performing as well for extended periods of time.

Honestly though, my real recommendation would be neither, if you don’t need a computer right away. The Apple Silicon MBP 13 will likely be coming soon, and it should be worth the wait.

Is there some reason you need to by now, instead of waiting a year? With Apple Silicon coming in a year or so if I could wait, I would wait.

apple silicon 2-3 month away, WAIT!!!

I know, I know. Not sure I want to jump into the 1st gen and will they be reasonably priced? I'm starting to get black screens with error messages. And also a strange thing where the screen will just turn off. Just the screen, not the computer and it happens while I'm actively using it. I'll try to hold out but the Costco deal is tempting.

Price will be cheaper than current MacBooks, since apple isn’t paying intel a premium for their chips. Wouldn’t be to worried about first gen arm macs, apple silicon works a treat on all their hardware.

Unless you know... You need virtualization and don’t want to pay a premium to be a lab rat.

1st gen AS machines will be great for YouTube reviewers and as babies first computer. But for anyone trying to do professional work, it will cost them time and therefore money trying to deal with all the teething issues.

I would pay the extra 100 and get the Macbook Air instead from Costco online. 16gb and 10th gen i7 CPU. Not sure how you feel about the touchbar or how much you value wide P3 color gamut on the screen. Depends on your workflow I guess, as cooling is not as good on the Air.

Honestly, I rather wait for Apple Silicon. The only power apps I would really need is Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop so hopefully Adobe is already working on updating their apps and it works perfectly out of the gate. I'm still using my 2014 13 inch MBP and 2013 27 inch iMac. Thinking of getting a new 27 inch iMac now and then a 16 inch AS MBP next year.

16gb in the AIR now? Good grief I am under a rock. When you jump on the new iMac & 16" MBP lmk if you're interested in parting ways with that 2014/2013 setup!

How will this blow my late-08-C2D mind?
