My new MBP keeps rebooting when I put it to sleep. It seems to be random. so there are times when I shut the lid at night and in the morning when I open it, the system starts as a fresh boot.
any help

sleep/wake failure. i had the issues with numerous MacBook Pros, both 13" and 15". Had alot of these when connected to an external display and the mac went into deep sleep/hibernation. All my five 2016 model MacBook Pro was affected in one way or another. back to using a macbook 12 and an ipad.

sometimes the whole machine locked up and the touch bar would freeze and the keyboard would be lit along with sound if a media player was streaming. i had to hard reset the machine by pushing the power button, other times it would just boot when opening the lid and an error report would meet me when macOS login launched.

Since the 15" Pro is the only updated Mac with atleast a quad core CPU, it is kind of hard to go Apple at the moment. Software updates didn't resolve it for me. Tried reinstalls and removing troublesome applications. The only thing that persisted was the sleep/wake failure.

so is there no known solution for this?

None. Have tried switching Macs five times, they all have the issue, both 13" and 15". Tried quite a few cables, adapters and docks, but it is still a bit too early, even though Apple released USB-C in 2015. Most of the docks and adapters don't support 4K@60hz.

I have the same issues - glad to know it is just not me.

I am at the point where I just accept that a number of times a week I will lift the lid of the machine and see a note stating the machine has rebooted . . . For me, never had this on any of our earlier models.
