MBP 15" loud optical drive sounds when inserting and ejecting DVD's

    The superdrive is pretty loud when loading or ejecting a disc, so I'd say that's normal.

    It's either a faulty drive, or you have a warped disc.

    Sounds like a stripped gear or something like that. I'd take it to apple, and they should replace the drive for free.

    inserted another disc and it sound like a spinning disc slightly hitting a surface.

    would apple exchange it even if i don't have a receipt? it's still within 14 days.

    They almost certainly would just replace your superdrive, rather than give you a new computer.

    the computer is 1 day old. isn't it direct replacement under 14 days?

    It may be. I haven't had to deal with that myself though
