A colleague of mine has an issue with a MBP shutting down with no warnings. Yesterday, it did it 8 times. We ran Disk Utility when logged in and the result was to Repair the disk by holding Command+R but we get a request for a password. We tried several passwords with no success. Is this a master password? Can we reset it?

    Here is the crash report.

This computer has a version of Parallels and Symantec software. Deinstall the Parallels software and the Symantec software, then restart the machine! And deinstall the Seagate software (driver), if you do not need this software.

If that does not help copy all data from the defective filesystem to a new (external) disk, erase the (now) old disk with Disk Utility, and copy your data back to the new file system. “Repairs” with Apples Disk Utility or other tools can damage the file system.
