MBP 15" vs. 17"

So I went to Best Buy yesterday to check out the 17 inch versus the 15 inch in person and I have to say, the 17 is a much nicer computer because of the screen. It is really impressive and now I find myself wanting one. The only downside is the footprint of the computer is definitely larger than the 15 - but not THAT much larger. I think portability with the 17 would be an issue though even though many here have said its not. I dont see how you could use this on an airplane, or lay on the couch with it. To me it is the type of computer you would have to use on a desk.

The 15 would be perfect if they would increase the screen resolution. The 17 inch is really impressive though and if you can live with the slightly larger footprint I say go for it.
 
Has anyone had the chance to take the 17" inch outside? or even the 15"?

I like to sit out on the patio with mine to do some work occasionally, and I know with the computer I have (it's an older Compaq laptop), this is almost undoable because the glare from EVERYTHING is not only instantaneous, but basically overpowering of anything on screen...... would/does a matte finished 17" screen kill that glare entirely?
