Hi everyone!

A month ago I sold my Windows desktop and bought a nTB MBP with a 10% discount on Black Friday. I wasn't 100% sure that I was doing the right thing but since then I've been more than happy with the purchase. A friend of mine wants to do the same thing and offered me the same money I paid for the laptop, so I'm now considering the purchase of a TB model after trying it at a local reseller (no physical apple stores where I live).

The 13inch 16GB with TB retails for 2340€ and there's a store selling the 15inch version for 2600, instead of the RRP of 2800€, which makes the bigger version seem like a much better deal, so I'd like to hear from people with the 15inch about the performance and portability. Is it much harder to carry around than the 13?

I use the laptop to watch some Netflix, browse the web, photo editing on lightroom and development work, mainly web.

Apples ram upgrade is a ripoff as usual.

I'd definitely get the 15" instead.

I've been the proud owner of a 15 inch MBP TB 2016 for a while now. I would recommend it over the 13' any day. My wife has last year's 13 inch MBP and mine isn't much bigger than that one.

How's the battery life so far? Do you usually carry the MBP around?

Depending on what you do with it, I get at least 6 hours of battery life. Lighter workloads usually get me 8 hours or so. I tend to have many windows open (Word, Endnote, Safari, chrome, iTunes) at the same time. Your use would likely be different. Remember that when you first buy it, Spotlight has to index the SSD, and that is likely to chew through the battery in the first week or two.

I carry it everywhere I go in my backpack. It's not that heavy; I came from a 2010 MacBook (white unibody) which was way heavier.

Honestly, if you can afford it, max the thing out and it should last you a few years. Anker has just released a USB hub with gigabit ethernet that works well with it.

How's the MBP noise? Do the fans get loud? My 13 nTB is really silent

The only time they turn on on my TB MBP 15, is when I'm playing games. It doesn't turn on immediately, but usually after 10-15 minutes I believe. Under regular work loads and video watching, I don't hear them much.
