Mine is a DSY, and I have fallen below
Same.. So far I’ve seen 0 DSY batteries below 99%. All the others are made by Simplo...

Mine's a DSY, and I have fallen below 99 but seem to recover...

battery health will go up and down, i have noticed over the years that massively cpu intensive stuff makes it drop a lot. if you are doing that, try do it while on AC not on battery if possible

a full cycle (use it on battery until near flat doing non-intensive stuff) and charge should likely get it back up.

my 2015 13" is still holding 85% :D

yeah well I've only seen DSY batteries recover to anything above 98%, you even game on yours.. oh well, it'a all anecdotal but all the low health batteries on the 16" I've seen so far are made by Simplo :x

I got a DSY battery, changes like this happen a lot (i game on mine), seems to be stuck around 96-97% most of the time (had drops to 90%)

My DSY has hovered everywhere between 94-100% depending on usage, but after a normal charge cycle it normally ends pu back somewhere at about 98% currently. 41 cycles.

most Simplo batteries are below 96% at 41 cycles while only DSY batteries so far still hit 98% or so. just my observation lol idk

I have a Simplo with 7 cycles on it and it alternates between 99-100%, even though I've done some Destiny 2 in boot camp. Maybe I just got lucky. It still bothers me that it averages 99% instead of 100% lol.

I have yet to see it at 98 or below.

yeah well at 7 cycles or anything under 15 cycles both simplo and dsy batteries seem to be similar.. it’s beyond that where the discrepancies start :/. you probably just use it plugged in mostly.

Nah it's just a new machine. I'm putting a full cycle on it every day. Got it for my work from home setup.

Where are you seeing so many of these batteries? Or is it like anecdotal from talking to friends, etc.

oh well, keep us updated when the cycle count is higher!

I’ll certainly be keeping a close eye on it, I tend to be rather obsessive about these things 😂
oh boy it’s been giving me nightmares, the whole battery situation/ micro stutters and speakers popping. trust me I’ve been obsessing over the battery one in particular for months now. check my post/reply history lol. congrats on the new machine man.

I have the same exact problem. I've installed Windows yesterday, and I played a game on it.
18 cycles, 91% health. It's really weird. Does anyone have any conclusions about it?

I can't remember where I posted this, but same issue. It seems the system needs more power than it can be supplied under certain load. What I have tried, and what has worked for me to reduce this: installed Turbo Boost Switcher which I activate only when playing a game (the only game I play is Cities Skylines,) while playing reduce the screen brightness to where clicking on the battery icon in the status bar removes the message "using significant energy display brightness" - I think it's three or four brightness notches down. This seems to reduce the decline in battery and battery health (not eliminate it entirely.) My theory here is that the game is triggering the intel turbo boost and drawing more power than the charger can provide. It's quite a surprising issue, while this isn't a gaming laptop, it is supposed to be designed for video rendering etc. So IDK. I have the 16in MBP 2.4ghz i9, 32GB RAM, 5500 8GB model. Try the steps I have listed, and see if that helps at all.

Even if the system had to supplement the power draw with some battery power, that wouldn't really explain why it would cause battery health decline. Unless it's because the battery is being activated while the system is super hot or something.

The steps I have described seem to have mitigated the battery health issue, though not entirely. To be clear, I don't think anyone should have to take steps like this, not after having invested a hefty premium on a laptop like this.
