would you get a 16 inch MacBook if you do a lot of writing and research with 2-3 apps open on same screen? I use the 12 inch right now and a Mac mini with 22 inch monitor to have 3 writing apps open at the same time. I also do simple 4k 5 minute video edits on a regular basis. By simple I mean no need for graphics. just mainly cutting footage.

I love using the 12 inch on the go but sometimes desire a bigger screen when moving around the house. is the 16 inch too small for fast video edits and too bulky for on the go? Or am I just looking for excuses to get a bigger MacBook? My mini is sort of glued to my standing desk.

im assuming the new 14 inch will have good enough graphics to cut footage but the 14 inch screen may not provide the screen real estate I desire

4k 5 min video can be cut even with an Air 2020.
I think you are "looking for excuses" to get a bigger Macbook. So just go for it. But then your mini could be abandoned.
