Can't figure this out.

Most times when I lift the lid after sleep I get to use touch ID to login in

Periodically it says I **have** to enter password to enable touch ID.

Any ideas what is going on ?

I went to the command prompt and typed "last reboot" and it has been 15 days so I do not **think** it rebooted

Every so often, if you haven’t typed in your password, you have to do so. Same thing actually happens on iPhones, etc. For example if you haven’t unlocked your machine in 2 days - it then forces you to use the password instead of Touch ID.

Yes I read that, but in this case it was only 8 hours since I last used...... Thank You for the reply.

If it was 8 hours since you last used, but several days since you last actually TYPED in your password (as opposed to using Touch ID), you will have to type the password. I can’t remember the exact length of time - I think it was around 5 days or so but I can’t remember.

Thanks ... makes sense ....
