    neither, it's 2011 get a new macbook air it's an i5 processor so it's fast !
I have an i7 2010 17" macbook pro it's now my stay at home hooked up to a 2010 27" display and my 4 day old 2011 11" macbook air is my day traveller but this with the 27" display is just as fast as the 17" with Photoshop and Lightroom.
I reckon you should look at the 11" - it's portable and you can plug it into another monitor for home use.
After using the macbook air it's obvious this form factor is the future of the "Pro" line, the others are bricks in comparison and you don't want to kill you're back all day just to carry around a mac.
Don't buy the past man, get something new within warranty and a little more future proof than 2010, you need thunderbolt and air.

Unless your going to be gaming get the 17 inch if it's in good shape. The only thing you would really gain is a better graphics card.Take the money you saved and upgrade to a nice SSD and throw Lion on it. Will outperform a base 2011!

Also one thing to note about the 17". I got one about then, same spec, and have just had to take it in to get the Logic Board replaced. Common problem seemenly and was fixed for free. But was told it would usually have cost £630. Not sure if they would replace it for free being secondhand?
