MBP 17+iPad=Perfect?

Did anyone upgrade to a 17" MBP after they got the iPad because they no longer needed their computer to be super portable? I was thinking of buying a MBP 17" and just taking my iPad to school. Does anyone else do this and how do they like it?

I had the 17" first and now I have the iPad. I don't think it could get much better.

I sold my Thinkpad X201s and got a Macbook Pro 15" after I got my iPad. No regrets here. As a portable companion, I think the iPad is phenomenal.

The Macbook Pro is not so bad either.

I would make the argument that even a netbook + ipad > laptop + netbook. The iPad is in a class of its own. The netbook is just a cheaper, slower, and more portable laptop.
