MBP 2010 i7 using only Nvidia graphics card when ext LCD connected

I noticed with with gfxCardStatus that whenever my extermal 24 inch LCD is connected to my 2010 MBP i7 that it uses the Nvidia card regardless of what I select in the gfxCardStatus menu.

Based on the messages I see being logged to the console I am assuming this is normal behavior.

7/16/10 9:34:46 AM gfxCardStatus[189] We're using the NVIDIA® card, but no process requires it. An external monitor may be connected, or we may be in NVIDIA® Only mode.

Am I correct?

Yep its normal.

If you search the forum, there is a list of applications and usage habits that will trigger/use only the 330M GPU.
