MBP 2015 screen crack

Hi all,

My friend has an MBP Retina 2015 that he closed & the screen cracked on the inside whilst doing so. Apple quoted him £600 to fix, which he wasn't willing to shell out.

Any tips on how to fix this inexpensively or alternatively somewhere? Or any other tips & guidance would be much appreciated.

If your friend is handy with tools, I recommend buying a "parts" MacBook with a working screen and swapping them, either from a local shop, local buy/sell website, or eBay.
