Mbp + 27 Acd

I really want to get a nice referb 15" MBP and the new 27" ACD, but I am hesitant because I want to make sure that the ACD will be usable with a potential future gaming rig. Does anyone have a guess whether the display would be usable with the MiniDisplay port connected to a some random graphics card? I know that the current one works with a few current gen gpus (GTX 470, 465 and Radeon 5980).
