Hello,

I'd like to replace my dying 250GB original HDD with the 1TB WD10TPVT. With 1.3cm instead of the usual 0.95cm height this new HDD is higher than expected. Before I buy I'd like to know if any of you where able to use this HDD in a model like mine. I have a:

MacBook Pro 4.1 15.4" pre unibody, dual 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo, nvidia.

Thanks a lot for any advice 🙂

EDIT: Sorry for posting in the wrong forum, was a kind of accident 🙁

Thank you, will go for the 750 drive.

Its a shame to miss out on 250GB more. I carry at least three external HDDs just to have some space for photographs, video material etc. Its so annoying. Especially at the airport. 😡

Again, Thanks for the quick reply.

You could replace the SuperDrive with another 750GB drive

Tempting thought ... 🙄

Yet this is my last working disk burner. Even so I don't believe in this aged technology most people love little shiny disks for data exchange. Its a curse.

I keep an eye on Lacie's rugged drives. Once they offer the 1TB FW800 drive without this ridicules fingerprint scanner I might get a few of them for mobile data collection, leaving the 3.5 Inch drives at home 🙂
