Hello

I have read several times on this forum where some people say that he old MBP with the 8800 gpu is faster than the new MBP with the 9600 gpu. Which is faster? Better suited for games and graphic design, video editing?

they are basically exactly the same!! the only different (really) is the 9800 is clocked slightly higher..

ideally you would want the 9600, because it is newer and should boast better longevity.

The 9600M GT is a die shrunk, higher clocked version of the 8600M GT.

Now the 8800M GTS is another story entirely.

The 8800m series and the 9600m series are two different card lol. The top 8800m series should be twice as fast as the 9600m gt

The MacBook Pro had a 8600M. 6. And they're all defective.

The old MBP had a 8600 as far as I know..which is slower than the 9600.

The 8800M GTS is what's in the iMac. 256-bit memory interface, 512 MB of VRAM, and more, faster shaders? 😎

wow what is wrong with me today?? i should know this!! got out of the wrong side of the bed.. its being on holidays! 4 months off uni really kills you.
