I have 15 inch MPB 2.4 A1226 that has developed the "random shutdown syndrome." Doesn't matter if it's plugged or running on battery; simply shuts down without warning. Tried replacing battery, power supply and reinstalling Snow Leopard with no success. Reset SMC and PRAM etc, no dice.

I'm considering replacing the logic board. I have a line on a reasonably priced board for an A1260 2.5 GHZ (T9300), which would be an upgrade to the one I have.

I assume this board will work in my MBP, but figured I'd check in with the experts first before attempting the replacement.

We "experts" don't know. We'd never attempt something like that, since it's a different model, and according to Apple, it isn't interchangeable. The layout of the inside of the machine is close, but I've never tried, and I would never try it.

I wouldn't recommend it.
