How do you tell the MacBook Pro to output to the Apple Cinema Display when the lid is closed rather than go to sleep? I know you can use the ACD as a secondary screen OR as the only screen with the MBP lid closed. Is there a setting somewhere for this?

If you have an external keyboard & mouse attached, and are plugged into a/c, it's automatic.

With the lid closed, just wake the MBP with the mouse or keyboard (they can both be Bluetooth, if you like). The external display will become the main display.

You covered it man.

Lets be honest, some people wouldnt get the point if it hit them in the forehead. Not the OP necessarily, just sayin!
