Yes, this old chestnut. I've trawled through the many threads on the dreaded sil3132 esata driver issues but haven't come across a solution that seems to work in my particular situation.

I eagerly installed some drivers for my generic sil3132-powered eSata card and the little icon appears in the menu bar. When it didn't immediately recognize the drive I then (perhaps jumping the gun) installed some other drivers people recommended.

So here's where I am today. The system profiler recognizes the esata card:

But the external drive refuses to mount and when I check in the disk utility, it sees the drives but then the application itself freezes.

it's important to note that the drive works fine when connected via USB.

So I guess my questions are:

1) How do I uninstall the sil3132 driver and start again? Is there anything else I need to remove?
2) Which driver should I be using for a MBP running 10.6.6? I've heard good things about the Sonnet drivers.

Thanks for you help!

Just realized my images weren't showing up. Fixed.

So yeah, any help would be appreciated. Mainly on removing the drivers and starting again!
