Yes, this old chestnut. I've trawled through the many threads on the dreaded sil3132 esata driver issues but haven't come across a solution that seems to work in my particular situation. I eagerly installed some drivers for my generic sil3132-powered eSata card and the little icon appears in the menu bar. When it didn't immediately recognize the drive I then (perhaps jumping the gun) installed some other drivers people recommended. So here's where I am today. The system profiler recognizes the esata card: But the external drive refuses to mount and when I check in the disk utility, it sees the drives but then the application itself freezes. it's important to note that the drive works fine when connected via USB. So I guess my questions are: 1) How do I uninstall the sil3132 driver and start again? Is there anything else I need to remove? 2) Which driver should I be using for a MBP running 10.6.6? I've heard good things about the Sonnet drivers. Thanks for you help!
