So im going to buy an external harddrive. Possibly the WD mybook triple interface. Mainly I'm using for backup and also for extra space. I just dont know much about what i can do with an external harddrive. can i run apps that are stored on it? like if i stored CS3 on it can i run it from the external. Also is there anything else i should know to fully utilize my new hardware. Thanks

Yeah you should be able to run apps on it. As for hardware, make sure it's firewire. Trust me, you do not want a USB connection with an external hard drive.
