I have recently noticed that my mbp (unibody c2d 2.66) runs at 70+ after going to sleep but only at around 60 if i shut it down and reboot instead. I am using it for work and run multiple browsers, photoshop, filezilla, word and text editor at the same time usually. Anyone know why there is this difference in heat?

MBP will get hot

Apple design their machines to run very quietly, meaning the fans spin quite slowly compared to other machines. This means they often run quite hot.

Get SMC fan control. It allows you to adjust the speed of the fans. They will get louder, but will keep the machine cooler.
