hi, I recently bought a lowend late 2008 MBP and I absolutely love it, and it's perfect. Theres only a few things I'm wondering about, first when do the fans kick in, the cpu and gpu were both at 65°C and the still spinned at 2000 rpm? And for the second why doesn't my brothers pc (win XP) show up automaticly on shared in finder? I can find it through the go/connect to server, but I can't find a way to get the printer working through it if it doesn't show up. My brothers other computer an Asus EEE running Ubuntu shows up automaticly and I'm able to print through it. The problem is that I'd like to be able to print directly from the pc running XP. Yesterday the PC showed up for about 20minutes next to the asus on the shared but then it was lost into the thin air.

Did you check the Software Update recently? They released an update these days that corrected the fan sensibility to heat.

Or you could always manage your fans manually using smcFanControl (free, google it).

ehm, I've updated the software through the Apple symbol/Software update, and I'll take a look at the smcFanControl.
Anyone have a clue about the network problems with the printer ?
